New Footy building plan
The BANSHEE footy hasn't been available as a kit from me for a couple of years. I still get some enquiries about it, so I decided to redesign the little yacht as a balsa and ply boat and offer it as a free plan.
You'll find a full size .pdf plan for the hull, building instructions, and also DIY building instructions for the OPUS rig that I used to sell for this hull; all available at my website mcallistermodels
I expect the balsa BANSHEE to sail every bit as well as the foam core version does. It may be slightly heavier as designed but the ideal weight varies with conditions anyway from my experience. An experienced builder can reduce the wood sizes or it could even be built from 5mm Depron which might be an interesting exercise.
I hope someone has a go at this and I'll be very interested to see how they get along. Cheers, Graham.
