Hey Newflee, Ron here. First I heard about you doing floats. I have a new set of Balsa USA 1/3 scale floats ready to mount to my SD. (... but no SD yet!)
Have you run across any scale photos of SD's...

amack... I'm not sure you have to worry about which way to mount the ST. I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure you're not getting airborne with this combo.
What 144" kit do you have...

I agree with your thoughts about the cowl being the proper shape and fit on a bird like this...
On all my aerobatic birds, I modify the outside dimension of the cowl to exactly match the outside...

Well Ken, I can't argue with anything that lasts 11 years... that bird looks brand spanking new in the picture.
I guess I have built too many aerobatic birds with wing tubes in them, this set-up...
