RE: Hostetler 33% Decathlon

Yes all commercial aircraft have TCAS, and there's little doubt that the New exec jet had it too. What is odd about what Marcus has reported is that so much weight has been put on ATC's inability to...

RE: Hostetler 33% Decathlon

That should give you a little more power to play with Marcus.
I have heard several people comment that the zenoahs are "OK starters" hand flipped on mags but my experience with mag engines is that...

RE: Hostetler 33% Decathlon

Nice job Marcus!:D

Think I'll get the Grob out tomorow for a maiden. Just have to spend some time flying some extreme stuff on the sim tonite. Not that the Grob is extreme by a long shot but...

RE: Hostetler 33% Decathlon

Wow, Marcus, I'm sorry to hear the news.
I haven't been in town for a while and just read about it.

Unfortunately that's part of the game eh?
I'm sure you'll have her back together soon.

RE: Hostetler 33% Decathlon

Hope that works for you Marcus.
Just as with placing the servos in front of the firewall I'm a little worried about the lack of separation of ignition noise and your radio equipment. I wouldnt...

RE: Hostetler 33% Decathlon

Hi Marcus,

IMO puting the servos that close to the ignition would be a risky choice after so much work on your bird. You should be able to accomplish the same results with bellcranks, perhaps...

RE: Hostetler 33% Decathlon

Marcus I have a U.S.41 with spring starter and rarely can get her started using it.
If your prop hub has a hole drilled into it like mine does you can remove the prop and insert a string in the...

RE: Hostetler 33% Decathlon

Don't hammer that spinner Marcus![:o]
It's a beauty. Save it for another model. Unless your a magician with a pneumatic hammer, I just can't see how you won't ruin it.

RE: Hostetler 33% Decathlon

Not much power in those Bob.
I have a couple but they don't have a very good power to weight ratio. I have one on a Hangar 9 giant ultra stick and that works ok with the huge wing area.
Some...

Same thing has happened to me Ken. Just make sure your settings are set properly within RCU and your email software. I had at one time blocked the server of notifications because it came through from...

RE: Hostetler 33% Decathlon

Don't worry, your just getting started. There will be many planes, engines and lots of costs you won't be able to justify in you RC future should you get hooked like the rest of us.

Your right about the cost thing. I now have a large inventory of electric motors, batteries, speed controls etc. For me it's quite affordable to get a new electric up and running. It's...

RE: Hostetler 33% Decathlon

Ken you'll have to stop building in order to make room for your awards soon eh?
Glad to hear you had a great time.

RE: Hostetler 33% Decathlon

After watching the vid again it seems that the German kit has zero dihedral unless it's a rigging choice that Sam made with his lift struts. No lack of power...if I recall he has a ZDZ 160 in it....

RE: Hostetler 33% Decathlon

There was a video posted a while back on the thread of the maiden flight of the 30% (or whatever it is) German kit. No cowl in the maiden but pretty crazy flying anyway.

I just got a new laptop...
