I bought the $300 Fiberclassics special at that 1998 Superman and an AMT Mercury, Got signed off by the General and still have it today.
BTW I never once Kangarooed a Kangaroo @ a 350' home field but I have KANGA'd a Bobcat XL, Bobcat Composite AND a Kingcat until I moved cg back from OEM and programmed Crow to Throttle point mix.

That´s cool... that $300 version didn´t have the belly airbrake and at least to me landing jumps were quite common at the time. Only when I eyeballed a picture of the newer versions in the internet and installed it on mine, I got rid of them for most landings.. and when I installed the canards, then disapeared for good.

The biggest kangaroo landing I ever witnessed was with my super hot spot I borrowed for a flight to a friend... he jumped for about 150 meters and ended upside down at the side of the landing strip.. LOL. Besides bending my eurokit landing gear at 90 degrees nothing happened to the plane, that thing was built like a tank.

I started by checking the gear mounts, all 3 of them, added a bit of CA here and there, over all the mounts are good.

This is how much lead I had to add to get it to balance with the P80, my TJT3000 is much heavier than the P80 and I probably won't have to add any lead to balance it + the mount that I'm going to build is going to add more weight to the back helping with the CG.

That feels like a pound and half.

I added the hatch to have the batt in and out in no time.

This is my 27# thrust engine, old, heavy but very reliable, it is 20 years old but it only has 14 hrs of run time that I put in myself 😁

That hump is going bye bye soon, I will build a new mount.

Roo's were a ton of fun. This one had over 600 flights, mostly on a P-70.

The work will continue next week, way too busy at work this week, I'm pooped at the end of every day 🥵

The plan for next week is to cut the hump and build a new mount strong enough to hold my TJT dinosaur 😁

With 27lbs of thrust this Roo will be fun, short flights but funnnnnnnn 😁

FWIW to get the max fuel get a 2L or even 3L PET or PETG soda bottle, Put 30% heli fuel in it and cap off, check every week as it shrinks until its a perfect fit then drain out heli fuel. Learned this trick over 20 years ago when we started using smaller pepsi bottles for fuel tanks the high nitro fuel will cause it to shrink and remove any twist swirls or indents to a smooth sidewall, CRAZY to be able to make a custom size as it shrinks.

I got that tank, you can also add two 20 oz Dubro tanks to each side of the main tank to add more flight time

That's not the same tank I had. My tank was the same size at the rear as it was at the front. Held more fuel than that one.

Next step is to build the mount using the engine as an alignment guide, I'm thinking I will build it slanted backwards to hang the tail cone away from the trailing edge.

The hatch will go away since the room where the engine batt was located will be gone.

Removed the turbine so you guys can see better what we did here... have two extra spacers for mount bolts compatibility.. never mind the heat damage. This happened in Chile some years ago, due a faulty kero solenoid.. Big fireball in front of Andreas Gietz but it wasnt a issue at all..lol

Default Have a virgin Kangaroo…needs a new home and someone to build her.

Airframe, sheeted foam wings and 3 new landing gear still in the packing they came in. I live in south Florida and have moved on to EDFs. Looking for a good home for her at a reasonable price.

I don't mean to hijack this thread but do you still have the Kangaroo for sale?
